Summer Calendar

At the PLC meeting last week, it was agreed upon by the patrol leaders in attendance to reduce the meeting schedule. Please see the revised schedule at right.

Flags for Veterans Day

This Saturday May 28th at 6:15AM Troop 619 will meet up near the Flag Pole at the:
National Memorial Cemetery Of Arizona
23029 N Cave Creek Rd.
Phoenix, AZ. 85024
(Entrance is off Pinnacle Peak Road just off Cave Creek)

Parking is difficult, so plan to arrive early and most will need to park along Pinnacle Peak Road and walk in, due to the number of Scouts from across the valley who attend.

The cemetery provides a limited number of pokers and all of the flags, each to be inserted by Scouts at the head of each grave.

This event usually goes quickly, as so many typically attend.

An email went out to everyone on May 23rd with a Sign Up Genius for a picnic immediately following the flag placing at Lookout Mountain Park.

Thank you!

Thanks to everyone who came to Chick-fil-A and helped make our evening a success!

We’ll be receiving a check, made out to the troop for 20% of the receipts in the box in the next couple of weeks and will let you know the grand total when we have it.

See you at Monday’s meeting!

Chick-fil-A Thursday!

Thanks to everyone who came and helped out at the Geronimo Service Project last night. Some photos have been uploaded to the troop’s Facebook page (troop members and their families click “Join” to come check it out, just search for our troop on Facebook).

We do have a meeting on Monday.

This Thursday, April 28th will be our Chick-fil-A Dine out fundraiser! Come hungry and eat inside at the Chick-fil-A on the south east corner of Cactus and Tatum, between 5-7pm!

Geronimo Service Project

This weekend: April 22-24

If your scout is interested and you haven’t received Robert’s email (which lists the scouts we know of attending), or if you have questions, call or text him at 623-202-4379 through Friday (today).

Scouts attending must bring a signed permission slip. HERE is the permission slip.

Bob and Robert will meet at the church Saturday morning at 8:00am. All scouts on the email, other than those going up on Friday, should meet at the church then. Travel to Geronimo, conduct service project and some will camp overnight. Bob will return late Saturday.

The project is re-coating the bridge at Webber Creek. We have the supplies.

Returning to Phoenix/Cross in the Desert on Sunday APPROXIMATELY 11:00am. We’ll have carpooling scout/s call their parent about 30 min out from the Church.

Upcoming Events

We have a few:

Next weekend, April 22-24 Troop 619 will work a service project at Camp Geronimo. Some will camp up there; some are heading up for the day Saturday. Here is the post about this event; it will be updated with more details after this Monday’s meeting.

Chick-fil-A Dine-out Fundraiser, Thursday April 28th, 5-7pm. Details and flyer are at the event’s page here.

Tentative Sonic Car Wash Fundraiser, Saturday May 7th. This is still in planning; we have applied for the date and are waiting for Sonic’s approval. Details and exact times to follow.

Geronimo Service Project

Next weekend, April 22-24 Troop 619 will perform a service project at Camp Geronimo. We do need more scouts and drivers – email the troop if you’re interested.

The project will be applying linseed oil to the bridge at Webber Creek. Used but soft paint brushes are needed and bring old clothes you don’t care about.

Troop email:

We can camp up there, or if you can only come for the day Saturday, that would be great, too!

Email the troop if you’re interested – more details to follow here soon.

Help at Max’s Eagle Project

Anyone who is able please be at the church this Saturday, April 9th at 6:45am.

Max Partridge does need a count and to give you additional information, so email if you have NOT already talked with Max or Bob Partridge about going, and we’ll forward your email on to Max.

We’ll head out from there and be done about 1-2pm.

We will be walking in about 1/2 a mile, so wear appropriate shoes and bring water.
