Troop #619 Committee Meeting 7-17-17

The meeting was called to order at 7:09.

Kevin gave the treasurer’s report.  We have -$795.25 in the council account due to funds that were not deducted from last year’s popcorn order, and $1527.94 in troop funds.  $148.95 was spent on Geronimo patches and $54.00 was spent on the Fork Pine Campground.  He will be depositing a check for $66.48 from the Streets of New York fundraiser.

Lisa gave the rank advancement update.  Duncan is having a board of review next Monday, and two scouts had a scoutmaster conference this evening.  September 26th is the next Court of Honor.

Kim gave the service update.  We have 3 scouts going to the Homeward Bound project tomorrow, and two families going to the St. Vincent De Paul Food Service Project.  Kim is looking into Feed My Starving Children and some school clean-up opportunities for next month.

Lisa gave the recruitment update.  We are having a bring-a-friend night on August 7th.  The committee signed up to bring items for an ice cream sundae bar at the event.  Lisa will be promoting our Eagle Merit Badge Clinic that is scheduled for August 20th at the District Round-Table Meeting on August 3rd.  She and Zoe are meeting early next Monday to discuss some dates to provide requirement clinics for cub scouts as a way of promoting the troop.  We are going to host the recruitment campout March 2nd-4th at the Heard Pueblo.

Howie gave an update on campout scheduling.  The campout at Knoll Lake on September 22-24 is first come, first serve for the 77 sites.  He reached out via email  to schedule the recruitment campout at Heard Pueblo.

Fundraising is a HUGE priority right now!  Joy is reaching out to schedule a car wash for a Saturday morning ASAP.  We have a Panda Express fundraiser on August 4th from 4:00-9:00.  We will be hosting a pancake breakfast in December and a spaghetti dinner in February at the church.  Other ideas were discussed and will be brought back up at the next committee meeting on August 14th.

The boys would like to have a troop hat, and Zoe researched a few options.  Lisa is going to work with Zoe to order them and have a friend embroider them. Each scout needs to bring $15.00 to cover the cost by the end of August.  Checks can be made out to Troop #619.

Tyler gave an update on what was scheduled for the remainder of the year during the last patrol leader meeting.  Well done, Tyler!
